Welcome To Magsig-Pallett Throwing Club!

This is the central place of communication for our club. On this site, you'll find the practice schedule, the schedule for the season, and results from various meets. We'll also post pictures and videos of our throwers in action.

Who Are We?

We are a group of athletes that enjoy throwing things

MPTC competes in all 5 track & field throwing disciplines: shot put, discus, javelin, hammer, and indoor weight. While we are an official AAU Youth Track Team, joining our club is not required to practice with us. We have many throwers from other local AAU teams as well as high school/open/masters/senior throwers that join us.

MPTC 2023 Outdoor Season Highlights

Youth Thrower Results:

8 athletes committed to the 2-month summer training session. Combined they set 15 new PRs in 17 event opportunities.

They earned 10 medals at the AAU National Junior Olympics (1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze)

12yr Discus National Champion (Maggie)
15-16yr Javelin Silver Medalist (Teegan)
15-16yr Discus Silver Medalist (Teegan)
12yr Pentathlon Bronze Medalist (Zoe)

Maggie 12yr (6lb shot - outdoor, 400g jav, 3kg hammer)
Teegan 15-16yr (javelin, discus - tied)

Improved #2 javelin thrower all-time for Michigan high school boys (Teegan)

#4 Michigan High School Discus thrower in 2023 (Teegan)

Worked with a multitude of high school throwers during the winter (in prep for spring) and during the high school season (including Farmington’s shot putters). Those athletes went roughly 21 for 26 hitting new PRs.

Masters Throwers Results:

Jennifer:

PR’d in 6.5 of 7 events (0.5 = shot outdoor PR only)
Two top 3 finishes @ the National Senior Games (discus, hammer)
Exceeded the US Masters All-American Standard for discus, hammer, weight and super weight!!

Coach Toby:

Exceeded the US Masters All-American Standard for shot put, discus and hammer!

1 AAU Indoor National Champion (Maggie – shot put)
2 medals at the AAU 14U Indoor National Championships

1 medal at the MITS State Meet (Teegan 4th in discus)
